Wondering how to travel between the islands on your next trip to Greece? I was wondering the same thing when I knew I would be travelling from Athens Piraeus Port to Naxos in October 2025. I found that taking the ferry would best suit my needs instead of taking a quick flight, and it was also much cheaper as well.
SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet Route: Naxos to Athens
Departing from Naxos Port was very convenient, and there is a main docking area, making it easy to navigate. Closer to where the ferry area is located is a narrow pass-through building where you will see the lines of passengers start to form.
The SEAJETS ferry actually only arrives a few minutes before the departure time. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes in the pass-through building area, which was fine as it was October. There was another SEAJETS ferry at 11:00 am, but I realized that this ferry only stops for a few minutes, and my ferry was yet to arrive.
I booked my ferry route through Ferry Hopper, which was very convenient as I travelled with Blue Star Ferries to Naxos, which you can read about here. I booked with SEAJETS for the route back to Athens (Piraeus). Ferry Hopper allows you to see multiple ferry routes and companies, providing a much clearer picture of the different ferry routes available.
SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet Cost
I paid 67.70 Euros for my Standard Seat, taking the ferry from Naxos to Athens in October of 2025.
SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet Seats
When selecting your seat for the ferry, you’ll have 3 choices: Standard Seat (Silver), Business Seat (Club Class), and VIP Seat (Platinum).
I chose the standard seating option for my route and found it to be a comfortable experience. Knowing that I would only be on the ferry for a few hours, this proved to be a good choice for me. As I was travelling on my own, I was lucky that my assigned seat was along the aisle. This allowed me to come and go about the ferry conveniently, not having to worry about disrupting others around me.
Each seating area in the standard option came in rows of 2-4 seats across and about 10 rows back. There were blocks of 20-40 seats per section. You will be assigned a seat upon arrival to the ferry, and the numbers are located on the seat arms.

The Business Class and VIP Seats appeared to be on the second level of the ferry. Although I did not go up to the second level, the seats appear to have more legroom. I also noticed that there were fewer people in that area.

My SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet Experience
My experience on this ferry was quite different from my experience on Blue Star Ferries. The Eurochampion Jet ferry moves much more quickly and also stops at multiple islands. For example, we stopped at Paros, Mikonos, and Siros and only stopped for a few minutes at each port.
When entering the ferry, passengers with large luggage had a locker space area to leave their bags. As I did not have any large luggage, I kept walking past the luggage area where a ferry worker was waiting to scan tickets right at the bottom of the stairwell. After walking up a few flights of stairs, we reached the main level where you’ll see all of the seating. There are staff waiting to assist passengers in navigating their way to their seats, making it quite easy to find your seat. On the main level with the standard seats, it’s broken up into the front area and the back area. My seat was located in the back area, which is near the doors to the outside deck.

The ferry itself is not very big, especially compared to the Blue Stars Ferry. There wasn’t much space to hang out outside, as there were no tables, only a long bench-style seat.

I spend most of my time in my seat, enjoying a coffee from the ferry cafe (located in the front area of the standard seat section), and getting some work done. I also purchased a wifi ticket (3.00 Euro), which was also bought at the cafe. Using my laptop at my seat was comfortable; however, I did not see any charging port nearby.
Arriving at Athens (Piraeus) Port
Arriving in Athens at Piraeus Port was quite simple. There will be a long line near the front where you will see everyone lining up. Once docked, simply follow the lines, and you’ll be on your way to exit the ferry. We arrived in the E2 area, which ended up being about a 15-minute walk to the metro station.
Why I Chose SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet in Greece
I ended up choosing SEAJETS Eurochampion Jet for my ferry back to Athens Piraeus Port, as it is a “fast” ferry. My ferry left Naxos at 11:30 am and arrived in Athens Piraeus Port at 4:05 pm, making it a 4h 35m journey. There was a similar ferry through Blue Star Ferries; however, it was an hour longer. The price wasn’t too much of a difference after purchasing the Airline Lounge Seats on Blue Star Ferries.
Final Thoughts on Taking the SEAJETS Naxos to Athens Ferry
Overall, it was a positive experience taking the Eurochampion Jet from Naxos to Athens (Piraeus) Port. The ride itself was smooth; it had multiple stops on the way to Athens, and it was an enjoyable experience. The seats were quite comfortable, there were plenty of stalls in the bathroom area and the ferry was clean. It was also helpful to have staff available upon entering the ferry to help guide you towards your seat area.

Before booking, I was trying to decide between taking this faster ferry (by about an hour) or taking the Blue Star Ferries. There were two ferries to choose from:
- Blue Star Ferries: Naxos to Piraeus at 11:00 am (5h 35m) 52.50 Euro (Economy Seat)
- Eurochampion Sea Jet Ferry: Naxos to Piraeus at 11:30 (4h35m) 67.70 Euro (Standard Seat)
In the end, this ferry was a little bit more expensive by about 15 Euros. The SeaJets ferry actually arrived around the same time that the Blue Star Ferries ship arrived in Athens. The Blue Star Ferries dock is also closer to the metro station. Knowing this, I would have probably booked the Blue Star Ferries instead. This is because I ended up paying more money and still only arrived in Athens at the same time anyway. Of course, this may not always be the case and perhaps my SeaJets ferry was just running late for the day.
Enjoy your trip to Greece, and happy planning!
