Sliema is a great place to be in Malta, offering amazing views, and access to water with plenty of restaurants and bars to go to! Looking for some ideas of things to do? Check out this list below!

Chill out at the Roman Baths
The Roman Baths is a unique landmark in Sliema. Although it gets quite busy during the day, I would recommend ending there a bit later in the evening when it gets less busy. It’s a great way to cool down, enjoy the water, and relax!

Go for a Swim
There are a few key places to go and swim in Sliema! Keep in mind that it’s a rocky coast. I recommend you wear swim shoes as well just to be most comfortable getting into and out of the water. The sea is amazing and we love taking out our snorkelling masks and fins here!
See below for two recommend swimming spots:

Go Scuba Diving
There are actually a few diving clubs located right in Sliema if you are keen! Although we haven’t tested them out quite yet, it’s great to have a scuba diving option close by!
Join a Tour
There are plenty of tours that you can find in Malta. You can find kiosks right right on the street, especially near the Sliema Ferries Terminal. Many of the tours offer a pick-up and drop-off making it quite convenient if you are staying in Sliema.
My favourite tour that I joined from Sliema was the Full-Day Catamaran Cruise. We joined a public cruise and it cost about €140.00 per person (food and drinks included), spent the day on the sea and loved every minute of it!
There are also tours to join a Valetta Harbour Cruise which is a great option as well!

Take the Ferry to Valetta
I know what you are thinking…why would she be writing about taking a ferry to Valetta when this post is about Sliema? I get it. I simply wanted to highlight how easy it is to travel to Valetta via ferry from Sliema. It only takes less than 10 minutes to travel across the water and it costs €2.00 for a one-way ticket and €3.80 for a round-trip. It’s much more relaxing than taking the bus and potentially less expensive than taking a taxi (depending on how many people are going). Just a heads up though – when you arrive in Valetta is it a bit of a steep hill. There is a transit on arrival in Valetta to help you if needed.

Overall, Sliema offers a more relaxing vibe, filled with many options for restaurants, lounging, and seaside views! A great place to soak up the side and enjoy the beautiful weather!
